Day 2 o 30
the day was slow. Bookstore selling held its sway with the crowd. the heat forced a lot of people inside, lots of books bought and even a story time. Connected with my homegirl and writer Tamara then i jetted uptown for a First Fridays at The Studio Museum of Harlem.
its a private event.
See my many J.Ivy and we are in. some black travel launch by Black Atlas.com. Ushered downstairs we see the small crowd and the featured event. Laz Alonzo is the new spokesperson. Wow.
This guy is impressive. his passion for travel the and the importance of black Americans seeing and realizing that the Diaspora is everywhere and influences everywhere-not just here. I got the impromptu shout out during this small q & a with the press by Munson Steed.
"…there are writers doing videos like Brook…Brook put your hand up so everyone can see you"
yeah. I mean that.
once outside it got better with the open bar, food by Red Rooster and a performance by Melanie Fiona…
it was a good evening but damn it’s hot!
